OLIVES

Man has been farming the olive tree since ancient times. Its fruits, the olives, is preserved and used in many ways according to the italian culinary tradition: pickled, preserved in olive oil, in alcohol, stuffed, flavoured, etc. Moreover, there are several varieties that are different in clour, flavour, size. Make Italy offers a wide selection of olives, including various cultivars, like frantoio, taggiasca, leccino, ogliarola, etc.

Particularly recommended in appetizers and starters, olives perfectly combine with pasta salads and cold platters, but can also be sautéd in a pan for a delicious pasta "pizzaiola" or "marinara".
